Dr Matome Jack Mashiapata is a registered Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of SA (HPCSA), with other specializations in Pastoral Counselling, Family Counselling, Career Counselling, Trauma and Crisis Interventions. He has written and presented papers and workshops at national and international conferences in the areas of mental health, career counselling, pastoral counselling, mentorship, graduate attributes, ethics in counselling, school-university transition, students with disabilities, etc. Among his outputs is a book chapter titled “Trauma Debriefing” in the book titled “Life-skills: my journey, my destiny. Dr Mashiapata is currently the Director for Counselling and Career Development at Unisa, having worked at different levels in the field of education, as a lecturer, a high school teacher, an advisor in the school psychological services in the DBE, as well as in student counselling in higher education, at both residential and distance institutions.
