I, Dr Candice Harris currently practice as a general practitioner with a special interest in HIV medicine at the Intercare Wilgeheuwel (2014 to current). I also act as the nursing in-service training co-ordinator at Intercare Wilgeheuwel (2017 to current). Prior to which I was employed as Lecturer in the Department of Nursing Education, University of the Witwatersrand for 13 years. I was also employed as a medical officer at Mpumelelo HIV Clinic (Mofolo Clinic) in Soweto between 2011 and 2014. Prior to which I worked as a midwife and neonatal nurse in both the public sector (Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital) and at Life Carstenhof Private Hospital (2000 to 2005). I hold a Bachelor of Science (1995), Bachelor of Nursing (1999), Master of Science (Nursing)(2002), Doctor of Philosophy (Midwifery and HIV)(2004), and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (2008) all at the University of the Witwatersrand. I also have a Diploma in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Care at the University of Johannesburg (2004) and a Diploma in HIV Management (Colleges of Medicine, South Africa)(2011).
