| Fields of Interest | Steyn is an admitted Advocate (since 1997) and a member of the Gauteng Society of Advocates (GSA) specialising in labour law and criminal law before accepting a position as Magistrate with the Department of Justice where he presided over mainly criminal and family law matters. As a Advocate and part time Commissioner, he specialised in labour law. After being exposed to the traditional litigation processes, he realised the value in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes rather than the traditional way of litigation. Mediation gives the parties an opportunity to discuss their issues, clear up misunderstandings and find areas of agreement in a way never be possible in a lawsuit. Fairness is found through mediation within the parties….. |
