Module 3:

The scope of ethics will consist of a brief introduction to the concept ‘ethics. It will focus on the origin of the term, what the term signifies and how ethics are applied in the modern milieu, especially in the healthcare environment.
The practical application of ethics includes the relationship of mutual trust between patient and practitioner, the meaning of professionalism and the adherence to professional and ethical principles and practices. These include cardiopulmonary resuscitations (CPR) and ‘Do Not Resuscitate Orders,’ the legitimacy of Living Wills and Euthanasia practices.
