Advocate Pillay is also an accredited mediator in civil, commercial, and medical and personal injury contexts. He holds certifications from the South African Dispute Settlement Accreditation Council (DiSAC) endorsed programs, including training with the Law Society of South Africa and the University of Cape Town in conjunction with Mediation in Motion. He is formally recognised by SAMLA, MiMM, ADR Network SA and the Gauteng Division of the High Court as a certified mediator and has participated in pilot mediation projects with the Department of Health.
Beyond his legal and healthcare expertise, he is passionate about social justice and community development. He actively supports initiatives for abandoned babies and the elderly, and volunteers with probono.org to advocate for the rights of the indigent.
