Retha Britz holds two Masters Degrees in Philosophy (M.Phil): 1. Medical Law and Ethics from University of Pretoria and 2. Applied Ethics from the University of Stellenbosch, and a M.Sc in Physiology from University of North West. She has published on the topic of Informed Consent as first author in the South African Medical Journal (SAMJ) in September 2012 and published a book in 2014 as first author on “Clinical Research Conduct in South Africa: Informed Consent”.
Based in Johannesburg, Retha is a medico-legal and clinical research consultant. Retha also develops and facilitates various training courses in health care associated topics including research ethics. She has held several positions in the Pharmaceutical Industry since 1999 and works globally. Retha has a vast knowledge of medical record keeping and informed consent in medical care as well as clinical research. Her expertise has been recognised both nationally and internationally.
Retha completed the MiM Medical Negligence/Commercial Mediation Training Course and is an accredited mediator for medical negligence and health care cases, as well as homeowner association disputes. |
